Trip Report Philosophy
I'm a big believer in understanding, to the best of my ability, what exactly I'm getting into. I'm a pretty risk adverse person. In my experience, one of the most difficult parts of trip planning is finding the right resources so that is what I try to deliver in my trip reports. The main details and links that will enable you to plan this trip for yourself. It's not important how I felt about it nor what I enjoyed about it because hiking is such a subjective experience. A trail that is difficult for me might not be difficult for you and you might enjoy blissful hours of walking through forests whereas I rather be in a desolate wasteland.
Same goes for photos. I love taking photos on my trips and I love sharing them. But in this Instagram age, its almost as if I need to #spoileralert everything. Our wilderness needs a little mystery to it or I feel like we lose that sense of adventure in lieu of "finding the best campsite" or "missing out on this secret spot". I don't want to see the whole trail before I ever step foot out there and I don't want to have FOMO dragging down my experience in the wilderness.
