Transportation: Parked at the Upheavel Dome parking lot.

​

Water: Do not count on finding water on this trail. We carried all we needed.

​

Leave-No-Trace: Follow Leave No Trace principles. Carry out all trash. Do not burn or bury toilet paper or trash.

Flora Considerations: Stick to the trails and be on the look out for biological soil crust and try not to step on it. Its vital to the ecosystem.

​

Fauna Considerations: Watch out for snakes, lizards and scorpions.

Trail Specific Considerations: There is no water on this trail and near constant exposure. Temperatures inside the canyon will be hotter than on top of the canyon. Make sure you have a topographical map of this trail. The path is not always clear and washes often resemble trails if you're not used to desert hiking. Be on the look-out for cairns to mark the way.  Like any wilderness trip, you accept a certain amount of risk when going on your hike. You are responsible for assessing how comfortable you feel with that risk and understanding your own physical abilities.
